The registered medicines cannot remove HIV virus from the human body but they can lower the amount and protect the immunity system from being destroyed. It was thought that the treatment should be started immediately but nowadays we know that it should be started when the number of CD4 reduces to less than 200/1mm3. Medicines can slow the progress of infection and protect the body from symptoms and illnesses that are connected with HIV infection.

People who live with HIV have to pay attention to their sexual intercourses that are the way to get infected. The riskiest intercourses are anal ones, in both homo- and heterosexuality behaviors. Good quality condoms that are used correctly can protect people from being infected.

AIDS ill people do not have to inform about their infection/illness only with one except- necessity to inform the sexual partner. However they do not have to inform their employers about their health.
